It's the Final Countdown...

...Which means we have been busy adding the final touches to our shows!

With only one week until "The Little Mermaid, Jr." opens, rehearsals have been busy! Several components are getting the cast ready for opening night:

• Costumes added color and life to the scenes! They have all turned out beautifully, thanks to the hard work and creative guidance of several mothers like Tammy Kay (Gulls, Sea Creatures, Flotsam & Jetsam), Emily Jackson (Mermaids), and Joan Ilagan (Jellyfish, Willows, Sea Band).
• Microphones are an exciting addition to the show, giving soloists the chance to be heard well! Practicing mic changes keeps our fantastic high-school helpers Mariah, Bree, and Aidia busy.
  
• We started using backstage this past week. Students are getting used to the quick costume and mic changes, staying in dressing rooms, and being aware of when they will be onstage next.

It is all coming together! Don't forget to buy your tickets soon; some shows may sell out!

Speaking of tickets, you can now purchase tickets to "Shrek the Musical" online and at SHEEP on Thursdays. We are three weeks away from Final Dress for Shrek, so every week we add something new to the rehearsal process:

• Our fantastic musicians Rachel Blauch, Rebekah Blauch, and John Russi joined us for our first "live" music rehearsal last week! Throughout the year the high schoolers practice music with MTI's RehearseScore program, but practicing with live musicians is a different ballgame and brings a lot of energy!
• Set pieces are beginning to pour in... Mrs. Michelle Corvino recently delivered swamp grass, pieces of Fiona's tower, and castle pieces! Exciting!
• Costumes are in for this show as well... It always seems that actors get an additional sense of character when wearing costumes.
