Final Dress for Into the Woods Jr!

It is finally here! SHEEP Junior Musical Theatre presents "Into the Woods, Jr." this weekend! I was able to attend rehearsal last Saturday and the actors all seem excited and prepared! 

The Tew family generously donated the tree pieces that we will use for the ITW set - tomorrow we will be putting the set together. Then the actors will arrive for a full day of Final Dress Rehearsal! We have two casts, each with a different Baker, Baker's Wife, Witch, Jack, Jack's Mother, Little Red Riding Hood, and Cinderella. Other roles are played by the same actor in every show.

Costumes look great - we give suggestions, but each family provides their own costume. One of my favorite aspects of homeschool theatre is watching the creativity of each family in producing their child's costume. Mrs. Tammy Kay created her sons' Prince costumes by draping colored sashes across a white shirt and providing each Prince with a crown and a sword. Sarah Autry, who plays Milky-White the cow, is dressed all in white - except when she plays the "pretend" Milky-White and wears shades and a colorful hat! Rapunzel's "long hair" is actually a knit cap with a long yarn braid. The fresh, simple creativity makes the show feel like the fairy-tale it is!
