THE CLASSES
The SHEEP Musical Theatre Program operates in class format. These classes are offered through S.H.E.E.P. and meet once a week during the school year with additional Saturday rehearsals throughout the year.
Students can sign up for these classes only through S.H.E.E.P. Registration opens each April. The S.H.E.E.P. website lists specific instructions for enrolling as a S.H.E.E.P. student and signing up for these classes. Currently, participation in the classes is only available to homeschooled students. Space is limited in each class and there is usually a wait list. The Elementary and Junior classes meet at the Summerville Church of Christ during S.H.E.E.P. on Thursdays. The Intermediate class meets at Northwood Baptist Church on Fridays from 8:45am to 10:45am. The High School class meets at Northwood Baptist Church on Fridays from 11:00am to 3:00pm. For the Junior, Intermediate, and High School classes, auditions are held in the early fall. All students in each class are expected to audition and will be cast. After the cast list comes out, class time is spent working on music, choreography, and blocking. Students are expected to study music and lines at home. Rehearsals move to the performance venue in the spring; at this point, costumes, props, and (for Intermediate and High School classes) live music are incorporated. Spring show dates for each class are announced in the fall. |
